Debbie Reynolds Through the Years
Debbie Reynolds, the Hollywood legend and mother of actress Carrie Fisher, died Dec. 28, 2016 at the age of 84, just one day after Fisher died after suffering a heart attack at the age of 60. Born Mary Frances Reynolds in El Paso, Texas on April 1, 1932, the star kicked off her acting career in the late ’40s and became best known for her role in the 1952 classic Singin’ in the Rain. Throughout her career, Reynolds has filled her résumé with dozens of on-screen projects, picking up Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy nominations along the way. Reynolds also married acclaimed performer Eddie Fisher in the ’50s, and, with the birth of their daughter (and future Star Wars star) Carrie Fisher in 1956, started a Hollywood dynasty that continues today with Fisher’s daughter and Reynolds’ granddaughter, Billie Lourd.
