''In Bruges. It came out in 2008 with good reviews, but has quickly been forgotten. It's a shame because it's so funny, dark, and very well written. It's got Colin Farrell, Ralph Fiennes, Brendan Gleeson. It's on Netflix now. It's quite a treat.'' —T

''I have two film picks. Mother Joan of the Angels is one of the creepiest films ever. I can't believe it took 28 years of my life before I even heard of it. It's remained one of my top 10 must-see films ever since. The other film is Alice, Sweet Alice (a.k.a Communion). It seemed to know where the horror genre was going at the time, but it doesn't often get mentioned in the same conversations as Halloween or Friday the 13th. I still have my VHS of Alice that I got for $1 many, many years ago, so I suppose there's a bit of nostalgia attached. But really. See these movies!!!!'' —Bethany Rose

''The works of the late Satoshi Kon. The criminally unknown director who helped inspire directors like Christopher Nolan and Darren Aronofsky wielded the animated medium to blur the lines between fantasy and reality like no other. Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, and Paprika are all absolute gems from this Japanese animator, worthy of being compared to Miyazaki in terms of visuals and storytelling, who left this world far sooner than he ever should have.'' —Matt

''They Might Be Giants' Join Us (2011) and Nanobots (2013), two of my favorite albums in recent years. After they spent much of the previous decade bouncing back and forth between playfully eclectic children's projects and relatively conventional rock records, they now seem to have struck a perfect balance between the experimentation and stripped-down arrangements of their early duo recordings, and the big pop hooks of their post-1992 full-band efforts.'' —Gena
