The Bad Bang Theory: 20 Infuriating Hair Styles

1
Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams), Morning Glory
These messy bangs seem to infuriate Harrison Ford, but they're really not that bad considering the vast wasteland of The Black Magical World of Infuriating Bangs.

Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss), Mad Men
ARE THE BANGS CONTROLLING HER MIND? (''The shorter, stringier, and greasier, the better to eat you with, my dear...'' said the wolf in her brain.)

3
Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton), The O.C.
The sprayed-to-the-side bangs in the first few episodes of the series (left) were the most upsetting. I remember thinking ''This Marissa person seems better than that.'' But deep down, I knew she wasn't.

Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), Scream 3
Clearly she's attempting to operate as a professional in these movies. But with a dead animal on her head, how?

Liz Lemon (Tina Fey), 30 Rock
Thank God this only lasted one episode. Angled glorified-cowlick bangs? That's a dealbreaker, ladies!

6
Manny Santos (Cassie Steele), Degrassi: The Next Generation
At the beginning of season 7, Manny rocked what seemed to be a full-on blonde wig. The hair dept. eventually wised up, but they didn't quite get to the root of the problem.

Dr. Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), House
Why even go there with Dr. Cuddy? Did we need yet another indicator that her life was spiraling out of control? They knew we could also hear her, right?

Det. Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris), Cold Case
Can I just go off for a minute on this lady's hair? Great. It was constantly pinned up in the back, but not in a neat bun or anything. There were just, like, a thousand bobby pins who must have hated their lots in life, arranged in a jumbled crisscross mess. So it always looked like her bangs were the longest sections of her hair when obviously they weren't. It was an optical illusion for no reason! Just cut her hair if you're that intent on hiding it! Ughhhhhhhhhhhh!
Not to mention...THE LONGER PIECES ON THE SIDES. Totally different gallery. (Nominate your own Infuriating Tendrils in the comments!)

Jill St. Claire (Amanda Peet), The Whole Ten Yards
Peet's somewhat similar bangs in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (inset) were surprisingly not infuriating! Work the angle!

Yes, you have amazing, enormous eyes. No, you are not cute enough to work these bangs. Nobody is! Wipe that smirk off your face!

Rachel Berry (Lea Michele), Glee
Even though (or possibly because) she lost a ton of weight to go along with the new look, Rachel's bangs are annoying. It might just be her.

I hope she purloined some sanitized scissors from the CDC. What good is outlasting the zombiepocalypse if your hair can't look great?

Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), Gilmore Girls season 7 / Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) Alias season 4
Both of these bangs (sets of bangs? bang communities) are actually fine. They just happened to be har-bang-ers of doom — both series started to go downhill (GG season 7; Alias season 4) around the same time the main character got bangs. Call it the Felicity Effect, but with bangs. Sometimes a tiny amount of hair — a pellet, really — is all you need to spell D-E-A-T-H.

Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia), Heroes
Boy bangs! I know it was ''Sylar'' who cut ''Peter'''s trademark emo bangs and that these are fictional beings, but I also like to picture Zachary Quinto performing a heroic deed for all of humankind, while muttering ''Gurl, please.''
