'American Idol': Top 8 Power List!

8. Stefano Langone (Last week: 9)
Our sensitive chocolate chunk cookie had a few standout performances early on, but he's had trouble connecting to his songs, and was outwardly booed when Pia went home instead of him. (I know, I know, not his fault. But still: Who's really rooting for this cookie?)

7. Jacob Lusk (Last week: 8)
The man who rudely reminded us how hard it is to take a look in the mirror (maybe we're just ugly, okay?!?) will be toast this week unless he stays on pitch and allows Seacrest to smush a hearty humble pie in his face during the introductions.

6. Lauren Alaina (Last week: 4)
Lauren's performance quality hasn't been there since...well, maybe ever. The bubbly teen becomes a different, duller person once the music starts. That said, I love her huge voice and I'd love her to prove me wrong.

5. Paul McDonald (Last week: 7)
The hoarse whisperer will still be riding high on last week's wildly energetic, show-closing ''Folsom Prison Blues.'' Whether he'll go all-out crazy or creepy-sensitive for movie night is anyone's guess.

4. Haley Reinhart (Last week: 6)
Our lil' growler needs to nail it this week, but for me (for you), there's more heart in one Haley verse than an entire Lauren Alaina song. I think she'll surprise people and stay longer than ''a minute,'' as J. Lo prescribed. (She meant this as a compliment!)

3. Casey Abrams (Last week: 5)
I found his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance forgettable, but bassy Casey's due for an Idol moment this week. He's gotta prove there's a good reason he was saved, especially after Pia's exit.

2. James Durbin (Last week: 2)
Our gently weeping guitarist wasn't as hard-hitting as usual — on Rock Week, no less — but ladies love emotions and ladies love to vote. Keep the tears flowing, man. It's easy if you cry.

1. Scotty McCreery (Last week: 3)
His country fan base is solid, and after the extra range he showed on last week's ''That's All Right Mama,'' Scotty may have picked up some non-country devotees as well.
