Alan Thicke Through the Years
Alan Thicke died in December 2016 at the age of 69. The late actor, who was born in Ontario on March 1, 1947, kicked off his acting career in his 20s, landing early roles in TV movies and one-off episodes. He rose to fame years later, joining Growing Pains as Dr. Jason Seaver in 1985. He held the role of the family man for seven years, going on to appear in Hope & Gloria, Carolina, Raising Helen, The Bold and the Beautiful, and How I Met Your Mother. Thicke earned Emmy nominations for his writing work on The Barry Manilow Special and America 2-Night in the ’70s, and landed a Golden Globe nomination for Growing Pains in the ’80s.
