Then: Dominic Monaghan, Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, and Sean Astin, The Lord of the Rings
''On our days off, we were together, because we really had no one else. We didn't know anyone in New Zealand. So Saturday morning came around, and we'd go for brunch and then we'd just hang out all day, whether that was surfing or buying records or buying clothes or seeing some girls around Wellington.'' —Monaghan, talking about spending time with Wood, Astin, and Boyd.

Now: Astin, Wood, and Monaghan, The Lord of the Rings
''Those were formative years. At 18, one would normally be going to university, or if there was a war, you'd be going to fight for your country. That's the time when you become a man. So for The Lord of the Rings to fit into that time period was so perfect. It exemplified a lot of those coming-of-age experiences for all of us. When people ask me about the movies, I don't really think about the movies. I think about the experiences making them, and I think about the relationships we all had and the growth that we all went through.'' —Elijah Wood

Then: Alexis Bledel and Lauren Grahm, Gilmore Girls
''All of us [had to look up cultural references in the script], because if you hadn't read the complete New York Times on Sunday, you'd come [in] Monday morning, and there would be a lot of stuff you wouldn't recognize.'' —Graham

Now: Bledel and Graham, Gilmore Girls
Lauren: ''We are, like, the worst people to have a reunion interview because we don't remember anything. I mean, anything. People come up and they're like, 'Oh remember, I played the real estate agent in the episode...' And I'm like, I have no idea. I have no recollection. It was a lot.''
Alexis: ''Because it was such dense language and we had long days, and it was, I think, overwhelming in a way at the time, to the point where we don't have really clear memories of certain portions of taping the show. It was just kind of a big blur.''
