What if Colbert shared the stage with the 'Stranger Things' star?
Millie Bobby Brown just became a teenager, but she’s already a solid candidate for future awards show host. The Stranger Things star entertained last year’s Emmys audience with her costars before passing out PB&J sandwiches, she popped in for Jimmy Fallon’s Golden Globes opener this year, plus she can sing Spice Girls. Appearing on The Late Show Thursday night, Brown suggested she become Stephen Colbert’s cohost for this year’s Emmys — and now it all seems like her destiny to do so.
“I think we should sort something out there,” Brown said. “I think that, like, I should be your cohost. So, you host and I’ll, like, wink at you at some point and then you’ll be like, ‘Okay, this is the moment where we have to get the envelope and say, Millie Bobby Brown.’ So, do you wanna do that?”
“Just laugh at any of my jokes and I’ll do anything you want,” Colbert replied.
A more plausible scenario is this is perhaps laying the groundwork for what will turn out to be an Emmys sketch or on-stage bit between Colbert and Brown. At the very least she can rap on cue.
Brown, returning for Stranger Things season 2 this Oct. 27, is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at this year’s Emmys for her role as Eleven. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS Sunday, Sept. 17.
