Don’t worry, composers. Emmy will be there for you: Though the Emmys considered getting rid of its award for outstanding main title theme music, Variety reports it will indeed remain a category, thanks to the branch membership’s vote.

So now, in celebration of the fact, we need to consider themes worthy of the award this year. (If you would like a reference, PBS’ Great Performances‘ theme beat out The Mole, Sons of Anarchy, Story Makers, and United States of Tara for the prize last year.) Though it lost out to The Tudors back in 2007, I still think Dexter deserves another shot at the prize. (Hear the music embedded below if you feel like getting some goosebumps!) Never before has theme music gotten me so pumped for an hour of television. Your pick, PopWatchers?

P.S. Is it wrong that I’m kind of mad Matlock never picked up the award?
