Comic-Con 2015 preview: 10 panels we can't wait to see
'Warcraft,' Saturday, July 11
The fantasy epic from director Duncan Jones (Moon) and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, and Dominic Cooper is set for its big public unveiling in Hall H during the Legendary panel, which also includes Crimson Peak and Krampus. Expect incredible creature effects from ILM.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Saturday, July 11
With Marvel Studios taking the year off in San Diego, this is Warner Bros’ chance to steal some Comic-Con love for its rapidly expanding DC universe. Director Zack Snyder will be on hand with the cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, including Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Friday, July 10
J.J. Abrams is bringing The Force Awakens to San Diego, hopefully with some inside information on the revived space saga. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also will be on hand, along with the film's co-writer Lawrence Kasdan. Abrams has always kept his films notoriously close to the vest, but it's been months since the presentation at Celebration. Isn't it time for a full trailer?
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Saturday, July 11
Lily James, Bella Heathcote, Jack Huston, and Matt Smith are expected to make an appearance in support of the Austenian-zombie mash-up, based on the Seth Grahame-Smith novel.
The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, Friday, July 10
Always a big panel at the Con, the folks from AMC’s zombie mega-hit will be joined by their spin-off counterparts, as Fear the Walking Dead makes its San Diego Comic-Con debut. Both enormous casts will be out in full force for the back-to-back panel presentations.
Game of Thrones, Friday, July 10
No, Kit Harington isn’t going to be there, so you’ll just have to bother Alfie Allen, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Natalie Dormer, Conleth Hill, Hannah Murray, Sophie Turner, Carice van Houten, or Maisie Williams with your questions about Jon Snow during the panel, which Seth Meyers will moderate.
Marvel TV featuring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter, Friday, July 10
Though the cinematic arm of the Marvel Universe won’t be making an appearance, you’ll be able to see the heroes of both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. The pairing unfortunately won't include any of the Netflix shows like Daredevil or Jessica Jones.
Ash vs. Evil Dead, Friday, July 10
Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, and Lucy Lawless will all be on hand to talk about the long-awaited return of the man with the boomstick. Groovy! The new TV series comes to Starz this fall.
Supergirl, Saturday, July 11
Why should Supergirl's cousin get to have all of the fun at Comic-Con. Not long after the big Dawn of Justice panel, you'll be able to catch a screening of the pilot for CBS' upcoming superhero show, followed by a cast Q&A.
Heroes Reborn, Sunday, July 12
The heroes are back, and they're coming to Hall H. Creator Tim Kring is bringing an extended trailer, and castmember Greg Grunberg will moderate a Q&A with Jack Coleman, Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Kiki Sukezane, Ryan Guzman, Gatlin Green, Henry Zebrowski, Judith Shekoni, Danika Yarosh, and Rya Kihlstedt.
