The small screen is no stranger to supernatural towns, from Sunnydale, California to Hawkins, Indiana. NBC’s Midnight, Texas is the latest to revolve around an eerie locale, and the cast and crew of the dark fantasy series — inspired by the books of The True Blood Novels author, Charlaine Harris — revealed some teases about the show at EW’s San Diego Comic-Con studio over the weekend.
Star Dylan Bruce confirmed that there is plenty of “boom, pow, kapow, bash, bang, boop going on,” in the show, or, as the cast also called it, “zonking.”
So how does this otherworldly series differ from others? Peter Mensah, who plays vampire Lemuel Bridger, says, “The Normals and the Supernaturals actually display the same characteristics. … So what you get is a complete sort of reversal of roles at times. … So this is more than just a supernatural story, this becomes a very human interaction.”
Midnight, Texas premieres Monday on NBC at 10 p.m. ET. Watch the interview above.
