Fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday got a glimpse of how Brie Larson will look in Captain Marvel, and Marvel Studios also announced some other surprises about its new female hero.

This film, out in March 2019, will actually be a throwback, set in the mid-1990s.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Samuel L. Jackson will return as S.H.I.E.L.D. spymaster Nick Fury, but this time, "he will have two eyes."

Throughout Marvel history, including the comics, fans have mostly seen the character with his signature eye patch and distressing facial scar. In Captain Marvel, it sounds like we're going to see how he suffers that injury.

Feige also tantalized the crowd by revealing that this movie will feature the first big-screen appearance of the Skrulls, an alien race with a rich, destructive history in the comic books.
