A zombie apocalypse TV series whose main characters are dying constantly is somehow about to get darker.
The cast and creative team behind Fear the Walking Dead stopped by EW’s suite at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Thursday to discuss the first half of season 3 and to preview what’s to come, including the repercussions of Nick (Frank Dillane) and Madison (Kim Dickens) killing Jeremiah (Dayton Callie).
“It’s going to get darker and deeper,” says showrunner Dave Erickson. “I think there’s now a big secret. They’ve committed a murder, and there’s going to be a conspiracy that surrounds that. And I think one of the big questions of the back half is how is Nick and ultimately, Alicia and Madison are going to be able to process what they’ve done, and then what happens when the sons learn how the father really died.”
Fear the Walking Dead returns Sunday, Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
