Things are really heating up on Supergirl for season 2… and we mean that in so many ways.

For starters, there was that dreamy, season ending kiss between Kara (Melissa Benoist) and James (Mehcad Brooks). And, of course, there’s the equally dreamy arrival of Superman, who will be played by Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin. Both were hot topics when the cast — Hoechlin included — stopped by EW’s studio at San Diego Comic-Con.

“This is actually day 1 on the job for me,” Hoechlin admitted, saying he doesn’t know yet what the gig will really be like. When asked how long we should expect to see him in National City, he played coy: “That question I will not touch.”

As far as the romance goes, Brooks wouldn’t confirm or deny that James and Kara were an official couple, but Jeremy Jordan, whose character has been painfully unlucky in love thus far, joked about Winn, “I think he’s going to be on his computer a little bit more.” At least he’ll have a new job at the DEO.

Of course, the biggest lingering question following the season 1 finale was regarding the contents of that pod. If David Harewood has anything to say about it, the thing will be filled with Doritos. For more of the cast’s guesses — as well as their feelings about the show’s move to The CW — check out the video above.

Supergirl lands at The CW on Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m.
