Scream Queens: Comic-Con 2016 panel preview
The second season of Scream Queens is just a couple of months away, but there’s still so much we don’t know about what Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan will do with the new installment of their campy horror series. Thankfully, the show’s cast will spill some secrets this Friday at their Comic-Con panel. Here’s your primer for everything we know so far about Scream Queens:
Where we left off: After a full season of speculation, Hester (Lea Michele) finally revealed herself to be the murderous Red Devil, responsible for the innumerable deaths at Wallace University. Ever the master schemer, Hester framed Chanel (Emma Roberts), Chanel No. 3 (Billie Lourd), and Chanel No. 5 (Abigail Breslin) for her crimes, and they are sentenced to life in a mental institution. Only Dean Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) knows the truth about the Red Devil’s identity, but she makes a deal with Hester to keep quiet. The season ends with a quick shot of the Red Devil attacking Chanel in her bed.
What we know about season 2: Immediately after the show was picked up for a second season, it was announced the the new installment would be set in a hospital, and that a good chunk of the season 1 cast will be reprising their roles. Set 2 years after the events of the first season, Cathy Munsch is now running a hospital and employs the Chanels, Hester, and Zayday Williams (Keke Palmer). The hospital is also the workplace of three new additions to the series: John Stamos as Dr. Brock Holt, Taylor Lautner as Dr. Cassidy Cascade, and former Glee actor James Earl as a character named Candy Striper. Dr. Holt is the hospital’s head surgeon, described as brilliant but secretive. Dr. Cascade, said to be the prime suspect after a wave of tragedies, forms a bond with Chanel No. 3. Niecy Nash’s character Officer Denise Hemphill and Glen Powell’s Chad Redwell will also be back for season 2.
