Samantha Bee and Jason Jones stopped by EW and Sirius XM’s suite at New York Comic-Con over the weekend to discuss their new TBS shows, Full Frontal and The Detour, and their interview came with a special guest: Mo Rocca, who also moderated the pair’s NYCC panel (and braided Bee’s hair as they chatted).

Jones described The Detour as a comdey centering on a family that “exhibits the s—show that is the family life … they’re stuck on a little family vacation and everything goes awry.”

“It’s as if David Mamet wrote an episode of Three’s Company,” he joked.

For Full Frontal, Bee said she doesn’t feel the pressure over expectations for her upcoming late-night show. “I’m just trying to make a show that I would want to watch,” she said, “And then I assume there are billions of people out in the world who would want to watch a show that would entertain me.”

Jones and Bee also talked about the “better” version she tweeted of Vanity Fair’s all-male late-night photo (which she inserted herself into, as a centaur, with lasers shooting out of her eyes) that caught fire last month online.

“I think it tapped into something — a frustration, shall we say? An exhaustion?” Bee said.
