'Game of Thrones' awesome Comic-Con posters revealed
Are you ready for three very different awesomely artistic takes on the land of Westeros?
HBO has teamed with Austin-based collectible arts boutique Mondo (of Alamo Drafthouse fame) to launch a series of limited-edition screen-printed posters to be released at Comic-Con this week. Below are new images by artists Martin Ansin, Vania Zouravliov and Daniel Danger (OK, I want to change my name to Daniel Danger now). The posters will be gradually made available throughout the week at Mondo’s booth (#437; for more detail follow @MondoNews). Also, be sure to check out EW.com’s InsideTV blog on Friday for our coverage of the Game of Thrones Comic-Con panel (in fact, it’s the same day as the panels for the Firefly reunion, The Walking Dead, Spartacus and Breaking Bad — so just park your browser here and let us run around the San Diego convention center for you).
Here are all three of Mondo/HBO’s Game of Thrones Comic-Con 2012 poster images, exclusive to EW.com:
First, Ansin’s black-and-white image, which features (House Lannister) lionesses taking down a (House Baratheon) stag with (House Stark) wolves in pursuit. And what’s that threat in the distance? A (House Targaryen) dragon.
Danger took on the opening moments of the pilot episode: A White Walker closes in on Night’s Watch rangers. Reminiscent of the very first image released of the show.
And finally, I want to get my hookah and stare at this one for awhile. Vania’s surreal, intricate take. There’s a lot going on in here…
HBO's epic fantasy drama based on George R.R. Martin's novel series A Song of Ice and Fire.
