Twenty-one years ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger headlined Total Recall, the classic sci-fi adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s We Can Remember It For You Wholesale. And, in 2012, we can expect to see an entirely different Total Recall in theaters, with an entirely different star-studded cast. Following Sony’s Comic-Con panel, during which the studio previewed footage from the film, Kate Beckinsale, Colin Farrell, and Jessica Biel stopped by EW’s VIP lounge to talk about shooting a movie that’s not fully complete, how fans received the footage (“They didn’t throw anything,” Beckinsale said), and how their Total Recall is different from the 1990 original. “The idea of this film is it’s just a re-invention,” Biel told EW’s Dave Karger. “We’re not trying to compete, we’re not trying recreate what they did. That was piece of film — a classic piece of film with classic performances. And you just don’t touch that.” Watch the interview after the jump!
