Battle: Los Angeles came out of nowhere and garnered some major attention at Comic-Con last week, leaving people buzzing that the alien invasion film looked like a mix of District 9 and Black Hawk Down. Well, judging from Sony’s just-released two-second clip of the movie, I guess…they’re right? I think? I mean, you might have to judge for yourself. Check out the incredibly short teaser-of-a-teaser-of-a-teaser below:

I’m not quite sure what the thinking behind releasing a two-second commercial is, but remarkably, it actually made me excited about Battle: Los Angeles. I watched the clip ten times in a row and kept seeing the curved smoke, which I assumed was some alien weapon (or a stray bullet from Wanted), but was there something else to notice? Was there anything in the background? Why was the man shooting at other helicopters? Could he be an alien? Are other geeks working on finding clues? Ugh — I’m such a sucker!

Between this clip and the mysterious W.A.T.C.H. program, I think Sony’s quirky viral campaign for Battle: Los Angeles is turning out to be pretty fun, but what do you think, PopWatchers? Did the clip get you excited for the movie at all, or are you unimpressed with the gimmick?
