Outside the Wire, by Jason Kander
The former Army captain and Missouri secretary of state had been heavily rumored to be looking toward a potential presidential campaign, until he broke last month that he was planning to run, instead, for mayor of Kansas City. Who knows what the long game is, though. (Aug. 7)

Elizabeth Warren, by Antonia Felix
The U.S. senator is building buzz: This sweeping, pointed biography comes just a year after the publication of Warren’s autobiography. Author Felix previously wrote popular books on Laura Bush and Condoleezza Rice; this one is sure to make some noise as well. (Aug. 28)

Every Day Is Extra, by John Kerry
Is the 2004 Democratic nominee for president making another go at it? Apparently, he could be. Becoming, by Michelle Obama
Sure, it’s a long shot — the former first lady has certainly been clear about her intentions to not run. But she is the Democrats’ preferred candidate, per recent polling, and this inspiring memoir won’t change that. (Nov. 13)

Where we Go From Here, by Bernie Sanders
Another activism manual from 2016’s Democratic primary runner-up is on the horizon. In his latest, Sanders outlines his efforts to oppose the Trump agenda — which should come in handy come campaign time. (Nov. 27)

The Truths We Hold, by Kamala Harris
Days after The New York Times reported that Harris was eyeing a 2020 bid, Penguin Press announced the U.S. senator’s memoir — a story about unity, ambitiously (and tellingly) subtitled “An American Journey.” (Jan. 8, 2019)

Pursuing Justice, by Eric Holder
Described as “provocative,” Holder’s memoir will revisit some of the major transformative work he did as President Obama’s attorney general. If he runs, expect racial issues to move to the election’s fore. (June 11, 2019)
