Very few publishing tales can match the sheer craziness of Image Comics‘ rise, fall, and comeback over the past quarter of a century. Founded in 1992 by some of the industry’s best known writers and artists — including Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, and Rob Liefeld — the company enjoyed unprecedented initial success, but then stumbled, before returning to winning ways in recent years thanks to a slew of new titles, most notably Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead.

The whole rollercoaster ride is chronicled So Much Damage: How Image Comics Changed the World, a five-part documentary from SYFY’s digital arm SYFY WIRE, which features interviews with McFarlane, Lee, Liefeld, and Kirkman, among others.

All five episodes of So Much Damage premiere on the official SYFY website, Nov. 20. Exclusively watch a First Look teaser for the documentary, above.
