You know him from the stage, the screen, and everything in between, and now, multiple Emmy- and Tony-winner Neil Patrick Harris is stepping into the realm of children’s literature.

Harris (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), who previously penned the best-selling memoir Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography, is getting ready to debutthe first in a series of middle-grade novels, titled The Magic Misfits. Misfits centers on Carter, a young street magician who comes face-to-face with a group of thieving carnival workers led by B.B. Bosso. Carter joins forces with his fellow “magic misfits” to protect their town from the evils at work, and, according to the official summary, the group “will soon discover adventure, friendship, and their own self-worth” throughout the series.
