We’ve been fans of author Ruth Ware since the release of her riveting 2015 thriller, In a Dark, Dark Woodso her third page-turner, The Lying Game, can’t come out soon enough.

The Lying Game follows four adult women — formerly best friends at Salten, a “second-rate boarding school” — who bonded in their youth over what they called the Lying Game. They’d lie liberally to classmates and teachers, but their one rule was they’d never lie to each other. Fast-forward a few years to adulthood, where a woman walking her dog in the village of Salten stumbles upon something that appears to be a stick, but is something far, far worse. When three members of the once inseparable clique —Fatima, Thea, and Isa — receive a text from their fourth, Kate, that says simply, “I need you,” they realize the secrets they shared at school might not be buried as deeply as they thought.

EW is thrilled to reveal The Lying Game’s cover in advance of its July 25 release. And for more Ruth Ware in the interim, check out Simon & Schuster’s Book Club Matinee on March 11, or pick up her second book, The Woman in Cabin 10, when it’s released in paperback April 11.
