Jimmy Kimmel is trying to make sitting through the Oscars slightly more bearable.

This year, the Oscars host left lunch boxes with snacks under every seat at the Dolby Theater. The boxes contained chips, a snack bar, gummy bears, a Listerine pocket pack, and note from Kimmel that read, “It wouldn’t be right to make you sit through this without snacks. Please don’t throw them at me.” Furthermore, a donation was made to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank for each box.

“We don’t like it when people are hungry – so we provided lunchboxes with snacks for everyone at the #Oscars and included a donation to the @LAFoodBank for each one,” tweeted Kimmel Sunday night ahead of the awards ceremony.

Kimmel’s concern for the audience’s hunger levels isn’t new. When Kimmel hosted the Oscars last year, he showered the audience with parachutes that contained candy, cookies, and donuts. However, he is far from the only host to give out food during the ceremony. In 2015, comedian Chris Rock sold Girls Scout cookies for his daughter’s troop in 2015, and Ellen DeGeneres handed out pizza when she hosted the awards show in 2014.
