Florence Foster Jenkins would have been proud of this moment: Meryl Streep received a standing ovation during host Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue. Kimmel called to Streep, asking her to stand and take a bow to celebrate her 20th Oscar nomination (for Best Actress in Florence Foster Jenkins) while also glibly referencing President Donald Trump’s tweets calling Streep “overrated” after she used her time on stage at the Golden Globes to criticize him.

“Of all the ‘great actors’ here in Hollywood, one in particular has stood the test of time for her many uninspiring and overrated performances,” he began. “From her mediocre early work in The Deer Hunter and Out of Africa to her underwhelming performances in Kramer vs Kramer and Sophie’s Choice, Meryl Streep has phoned it in from more than 50 films over the course of her lackluster career.”

His roasting, though, eventually led to a “totally undeserved” standing ovation. “The highly overrated Meryl Streep, everyone,” he said, before adding one more shoutout to Streep’s feud with Trump. “Nice dress, by the way. Is that an Ivanka?”
