A comedy from The Lonely Island is heading to the small screen.

On Thursday, Freeform announced it has given a series order to Alone Together, a new scripted comedy from the music group consisting of Saturday Night Live veterans Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer.

Alone Together stars Esther Povitsky (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Benji Aflalo (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser) as platonic best friends who always have each other’s backs… because they have no other friends.

“We are so proud of this series as it perfectly embodies the evolving Freeform brand and our dedication to programming for the 20-something viewer,” said Freeform’s Karey Burke in a statement. “Our audience will quickly fall in love as we did with real-life best friends Esther and Benji, who navigate a world of perfect 10s as self-proclaimed 6s.”

The series hails from Povitsky, Aflalo, and Eben Russell (Girl Boss), who will serve as writers and executive producers. Daniel Gray Longino (Lady Dynamite) directed the pilot, which features guest appearances from Chris D’Elia (Undateable) and Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation).

Serving as executive producers on Alone Together is just the latest collaboration for Lonely Island. The trio gained popularity with their run of popular digital shorts at SNL, and they recently joined forces for the big screen mockumentary, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.
