Jimmy Fallon, Arnold Schwarzenegger discuss Celebrity Apprentice catchphrase
The two also do an interview over Snapchat
Arnold Schwarzenegger has big shoes to fill when he takes over hosting The Celebrity Apprentice in January. The last host, after all, was just elected president of the United States. More importantly for the purposes of the show, Donald Trump’s trademark delivery of “you’re fired” is an essential component of The Celebrity Apprentice DNA. So when Schwarzenegger stopped by The Tonight Show on Wednesday night, host Jimmy Fallon wanted to know about Schwarzenegger’s new catchphrase. Naturally, Fallon assumed it might be drawn from one of Schwarzenegger’s iconic films.
“They get fired, and you look at them and say, ‘Hasta la vista, baby,'” Fallon guessed. “Nah, that’s one too obvious. How about this one? ‘You won’t be back.’ Okay, I think I got it: ‘You’re fired. Get to the chopper!'”
After having that laugh, Fallon and Schwarzenegger moved on to a Snapchat interview, in which they asked and answered questions using the wackiest filters they could find.
“How do you prepare for your roles?” Fallon asked in the pirate filter.
“Well I just look at the script, and I read through it and see if there’s a nude scene,” Schwarzenegger responded in deer form. “And if there’s a nude scene, I work out twice as hard.”
The interview had a kind of strange poetry to it. Schwarzenegger first became famous for playing a cyborg. Now, thanks to Snapchat, anyone can become a half-dog cyborg at the swipe of a finger.
