Ruby Rose is looking to pitch in. The Orange Is the New Black actress is in negotiations for a role in the a cappella comedy Pitch Perfect 3, EW has confirmed.
Rose would join a cast that includes several returning stars, including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Anna Camp. Details about the plot of PP3 and Rose’s potential character have yet to emerge, but presumably they’ll be tied to the further misadventures of the singing group known as the Barden Bellas.
Trish Sie (Step Up All In) is directing the threequel, taking the reins from Pitch Perfect 2 helmer Elizabeth Banks, who remains involved as a producer. Banks hinted at a potential collaboration with Rose in October, posting an Instagram photo of the two of them and adding, “This gorgeous talented spirit @rubyrose brought some needed excitement to life recently.”
Rose will be a fixture on the big screen next year, with roles in XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and John Wick: Chapter 2.
Pitch Perfect 3 is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 22, 2017. Variety first reported Rose’s negotiations.
