The video will pick up where the 'Perfect Illusion' clip's narrative left off
It might not be the long-awaited “Telephone” continuation, but Lady Gaga’s next music video will further another storyline introduced in her visual for “Perfect Illusion” in September.
The Super Bowl LI Halftime Show headliner announced Tuesday the clip for current single “Million Reasons,” the country-inspired ballad lifted from her No. 1-debuting album Joanne, will be released on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
“#MILLIONREASONS video tomorrow,” Gaga tweeted. “It starts right where #PerfectIllusion left off.”
She also posted preview footage from the upcoming video, which sees the Oscar nominee laying on the desert floor (she previously tumbled across the barren landscape in the closing moments of the “Perfect Illusion” video) as the sun sets overhead. A brigade of black SUVs approaches on a nearby road before the clip cuts to black.
Co-penned by Gaga and genre hitmaker Hillary Lindsey, “Million Reasons” has spent five weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking this week at No. 52.
The “Million Reasons” music video will premiere Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET on MTV, followed by a worldwide Vevo debut shortly thereafter. Watch the teaser in the tweet above.
