Kanye West and Donald Trump meet at Trump Tower
No, this is not a dark, twisted fantasy: Kanye West paid president-elect Donald Trump a visit at Trump Tower in New York City on Tuesday morning.
West, sporting newly dyed blond hair and accompanied by a large entourage, dropped by the high-rise early Tuesday and ignored questions from reporters as he entered the elevator to meet with Trump.
Eventually, the duo made an appearance together, posing for pictures in the building’s lobby.
“We’ve been friends for a long time,” Trump said, and explained that the two discussed “life” in their brief meeting.
West stayed silent about the meeting, avoiding questions such as, “Are you considering performing at the inauguration this year?” The only time he spoke, the rapper said, “I just want to take a picture right now,” and posed for a snap with the president-elect.
West was recently released from the hospital, where he had been under heavy medical supervision since being admitted on Nov. 21. The hospital stint followed a turbulent stretch for West, who canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour in November after saying on stage that he would have voted for Trump if he cast a ballot. “I told you all I didn’t vote. But I didn’t tell you — I guess I told you — but if I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump,” he told a California crowd.
