HGTV’s Flip or Flop stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa are going their separate ways after seven years of marriage, so what’s next for their hit show?
The pair’s renovation show, which recently began its seventh season on Dec. 1, is slated to continue on as scheduled, according to the network.
“We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina’s great work on Flip or Flop,” HGTV said in a statement to PEOPLE. “When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of Flip or Flop and the series will continue production as scheduled.”
On Monday, the El Moussas, who wed in 2009 and have two children — Brayden , 1, and a 6-year-old daughter Taylor — announced their separation in a statement to PEOPLE, noting a past altercation that prompted police to visit their California home last spring.
“Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage,” the pair said in the statement. “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed.”
“During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be,” they added. “We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.”
Both Tarek and Christina continue to promote their show’s new season via social media.
