Carrie Fisher feels 'guilty' over 'embarrassing' publicity of Harrison Ford affair
Carrie Fisher opened up on this week’s The Graham Norton Show about her affair with Harrison Ford, which she wrote about in her memoir The Princess Diarist. The Star Wars actress said she felt embarrassed and guilty about all the publicity the story received.
“It became a little embarrassing for me,” she admitted, after estimating 400,000 news services picked up the story. Later, when Norton suggested Ford has to now talk about the affair for the rest of his life, she said, “I never thought of that, and leave it to Graham…and now I feel more guilty.”
Fisher initially discussed the “intense” affair with PEOPLE, explaining it lasted for three months during the filming of Star Wars in 1976 when she was 19 and Ford was a 33-year-old married man. Fisher later told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, “I told other stuff to distract people so they wouldn’t figure it out. No one thought it was happening at the time – I don’t even know if he did. No, he did.”
