Starbucks, Pokemon Go strike partnership
Caffeinated Pokémon Go trainers will have their experience changed Friday.
The game’s creative team announced Thursday a deal with coffee giant Starbucks to be an official partner. Starting Thursday, the chain’s 7,800-plus stops will become Gyms and PokéStops. Starbucks will also create a Pokémon Go-themed Frappucino.
Prior to the official partnership, some Starbucks locations capitalized on Pokémon Go‘s massive popularity in the summer and concocted drinks inspired by the mobile game.
There should be more pocket-sized surprises on the horizon. An announcement Wednesday by game-maker Niantic revealed the game’s partnership with Sprint and teased forthcoming information about more monsters that will be added.
