Dan Stevens' David starts to learn the truth in the second trailer
It’s a big day for Legion fans: In addition to announcing the Feb. 8 premiere, FX released a new trailer for Noah Hawley’s highly-anticipated series set in the X-Men universe.
There have been countless X-Men movies made in the last two decades, but Legion might just feature the most powerful mutant yet seen on screen. The new trailer follows protagonist David Haller (Dan Stevens), who has been told his whole life that he’s “sick,” as he learns that his visions and voices might just be the manifestation of his psychic mutant abilities. Unlike other Marvel mutants, David has clearly been denied the comfort and support of Professor Charles Xavier’s mutant school.
David meets Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), a therapist who is confident she can help him untangle the mess of his mind. It won’t be easy, though, considering David’s mysterious backstory and wealth of repressed emotions. Despite the efforts of friends like Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), David is quickly losing track of what’s real and what’s not, and the trailer is full of trippy visions and eerie flashbacks.
Watch the trailer below. Legion is set to premiere Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
