Twitter's #MakeABandLazy helps musicians settle in for a nap
Even world-touring musicians need a lazy weekend.
Twitter is at it again with the hashtag games, and Saturday the #MakeABandLazy trend is cleverly taking various musical artists’ names to a snooze-inducing level. Iconic ’80s punk rocker Billy Idol becomes “Billy Idle,” the rock & roll icon who just wants a nap. Mariah Carey is known for her sultry and strong pipes, but “Mariah Don’t Carey” seems to want to take a day off from all the vocal runs.
The social media platform has been the breeding ground for hilarious cross-overs before, including #MakeASongClean, which sanitized the lyrics to popular tracks, and #MakeASongTitleLonger, which did just that to Adele’s “Hello” and OutKast’s “Hey Ya,” among others.
EW has pulled together 10 of the best in the latest snoozing musician craze below.
