Shia LaBeouf: actor, performance artist, and… rapper?

The American Honey star has been showing off his freestyle skills recently, including in an audio clip he sent over to Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club radio show for host Charlamagne Tha God to play.

“Charlamagne, can you play this on your podcast? Excuse the quality. This is just on Voice Notes and YouTube beats,” LaBeouf says in the clip’s intro before launching into his rap — and clarifying something right off the bat: “I’m not a rapper.”

Last month, LaBeouf dissed Lil Yachty when he was participating in the “Five Fingers of Death” freestyle challenge on SiriusXM’s Sway in the Morning: “Where’d the spitters go? Garbage litter s— they roll / Miss me with that Little Boat.” Yachty himself responded in his own freestyle on Ebro’s Beats 1 Radio show, where he rapped, “I grew up watching Even Stevens, now Steven ain’t nearly as even / But I wanna thank you for that entertainment that evening / We all laughed at you / Because we all know you wouldn’t say that if you saw me on the avenue.”

LaBeouf continues the back-and-forth in this latest clip, and also disses another rapper when he describes something as “faker than Drake’s Jamaican accent.”
