Gilmore Girls: Lauren Graham defends use of coffee cups in revival
Jimmy Fallon isn’t the only late-night host with an appreciation for Gilmore Girls. Stephen Colbert had Lauren Graham on The Late Show Thursday night and told her how he and his family spent one of their Thanksgiving days off sitting at home in their pajamas watching the show’s entire new Netflix season. Graham, for her part, talked about the overwhelming gratitude she felt while working on the new episodes.
“You hardly get a chance anytime in life to appreciate the moment you’re in while you’re in it,” Graham said. “The fact that it was the people who brought us back, and we got to finish a story we hadn’t gotten to finish, and this character I love so much … I was just walking around like, ‘Thank you so much for being here.’ I was just a freak. I had so much appreciation, it was overwhelming. I’m not a person who cries very easily. I cried almost every day.”
Colbert finished the interview by bringing out two cups of coffee emblazoned with the Luke’s logo and asking Graham about the internet theory that her on-set coffee cups are always empty.
“There is always coffee in my cup,” Graham said. “I’m holding it like this! Easy! I’m looking at snow, I’m holding the cup.”
