Twenty-five years ago Tuesday, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast first waltzed into our hearts. So while of course we’re anxiously awaiting 2017’s upcoming live-action remake, we’re taking a moment this week to look back on the animated classic that started it all.

Paige O’Hara and Robby Benson provided the voices for the title characters in Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise’s beloved fairy tale adaptation, and Angela Lansbury played the teapot Mrs. Potts, who sang Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s now-iconic title song.
