Willow Smith turned to music to channel her emotions following Donald Trump’s presidential win, and turned her pain into hope with the dreamy track “November 9,” released Sunday on her Soundcloud.

The song, which Smith captioned, “I wrote this song on the day of the election. Peace and revelations to all!,” features a swaying melody and Smith’s relaxing vocals, as she coos, “Baby girl, I know you’re tired, don’t let the world put out your fire. Take my hand and you will see, sadness and anger aren’t everything.”

Though it’s short and sweet, the 16-year-old tackles the conflicting emotions faced by many Americans, and urges others to remain hopeful in the tune, which she billed as a “transcendental lullaby.”

“Take my hand and you will see, suppression and pain are not everything,” she sings against a minimal, at times trippy, background. “Little rock up in the sky, just know we’re sick and asking why. Little ball falls through the void, it holds us together and endures our choices.”

Smith was recently announced as a collaborator with Kid Cudi on his yet-to-be-released new album, and was featured in his “Surfin'” music video.
