On Monday, veteran news anchor Gwen Ifill died at the age of 61. Coming less than a week after the election, the loss of the co-host and managing editor of PBS’ Newshour, brought condolences and heartfelt messages from actors, fellow journalists, and politicians from both parties.

Among the personalities reacting to Ifill’s death were Sarah Palin; Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump’s campaign manager; Speaker of the House Paul Ryan; Donna Brazille, interim chair of the DNC; CNN’s Jake Tapper; and Orange Is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba.

Fellow journalist Katie Couric wrote, “The extraordinarily timed and intelligent Gwen Ifill has passed away from cancer. I will so miss her impeccable character and friendship.”
