'Albert' will debut Dec. 9 and feature Bobby Moynihan, Sasheer Zamata, and Cheri Oteri
Several Saturday Night Live vets are getting in the Christmas spirit — and animated.
SNL stars Bobby Moynihan and Sasheer Zamata, as well as alum Cheri Oteri, will lend their voices to the Nickelodeon animated holiday TV movie Albert, EW has learned.
Debuting Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. ET/PT, the one-hour Albert centers on a small Douglas fir tree named, yes, Albert, who embarks on a road trip to Empire City to realize his dream of becoming Empire City’s most famous Christmas tree. Moynihan will play Albert, Zamata will be heard as one of his best friends, a palm tree named Maisie, while Oteri voices a TV news correspondent.
Want more stars playing plants? The movie also stars Rob Riggle as a cactus and Judah Friedlander as a weed.
Albert is directed by Max Lang (The Gruffalo) and written by Will and Aaron Eisenberg (The Massively Mixed-Up Middle School Mystery) and Joe Stillman (Shrek). Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi (The Adventures of Pete & Pete) serve as executive producers.
