See? It pays to be a Good Samaritan.

Dan Barkalow, Bob Grigs, and Ryan Bailey, three members of the Freehold American Legion in New Jersey, were riding their motorcycles home from a Veteran’s Day event when they stopped on the side of the road to help a fellow biker with a broken down Moto Guzzi. That biker turned out to be Bruce Springsteen

“I just pulled over and got off the bike and said, ‘Hey, I think I know you,'” Barkalow told Asbury Parks Press

After failing to get the bike working again, Springsteen hitched a ride to Original Mulligans Grill in Farmingdale, where he treated his saviors to a round of beer as he waited for his ride. “We just talked about old Freehold bands,” Barkalow said, describing Springsteen as “real down to earth.”
