Dead of Summer is, well, dead.

Freeform has axed the summer camp horror drama from Once Upon a Time executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis after one season, EW has confirmed.

Set in the late ’80s, the series followed the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp whose dark and ancient mythology led to the deaths of just about everyone, including seeming final girl Amy (Elizabeth Lail), who ultimately turned out to be the villain.

The series never quite caught on with Freeform viewers, drawing an average of 500,000 viewers and 0.2 in the 18–49 demographic.

Find out what would’ve happened if Dead of Summer got renewed here.
