Put those hashtags away. Warner Bros. Animation has announced that production for Young Justice season 3 is currently underway.
According to a statement from DC animation, season 3 promises “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team.”
It also offers viewers the chance to catch up with their favorite heroes after the fan-favorite series was canceled during its second-season run on Cartoon Network.
Young Justice follows the adventures of teenage comic book heroes like Robin, Miss Martian, Artemis, Kid Flash, Superboy and Aqualad, who often served along older members of the Justice League.
“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,” said Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series. “We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”
Producers Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels) will be returning to the series.
No network or premiere date has been announced.
