Hillary Clinton can count George R.R. Martin as one of her bannermen.

The author of the Song of Ice and Fire book series that serves as the basis for Game of Thrones recently paid a visit to the Clinton campaign in the battleground state of New Mexico, where he spoke to volunteers and encouraged voters to cast their ballots early (as he did last week).

Martin’s surprise appearance Saturday in Santa Fe came a day after he published a blog post denouncing Donald Trump. “In my lifetime, there has never been a presidential candidate more unfit to lead this nation,” Martin wrote of the GOP nominee.

In a subsequent post, Martin said the election has him “in a state of high anxiety. … Tuesday cannot come fast enough for me. I think I speak for a lot of Americans when I say that I desperately want this thing to be over.”
