SNL: Solange sings Cranes in the Sky, Don't Touch My Hair
Solange made the most of her inaugural performance on Saturday Night Live, where she soulfully belted two spirited renditions of standout tracks from her third studio album, A Seat at the Table.
The 30-year-old kicked off her stint at Studio 8H with a performance of “Cranes in the Sky,” during which she sported a glistening dress as she softly crooned the cut’s lyrics. She followed up “Cranes” with a gorgeous version of “Don’t Touch My Hair,” rocking a fierce, natural look as she grooved through the R&B tune.
A Seat at the Table — released eight years after the singer dropped her sophomore LP, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, in 2008 — debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in October, becoming her first studio collection to do so.
SNL airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Watch Solange sing “Cranes in the Sky” above, and check out her soaring performance of “Don’t Touch My Hair” below.
