See who else is coming back, thanks to a new photo from a table read
Eleven is making a comeback! Following chatter of Millie Bobby Brown’s return for Stranger Things season 2, Netflix made an official announcement confirming the news via Facebook on Friday.
Brown debuted as everyone’s favorite Eggo-loving telekinetic nose-bleeder in season 1 of the Duffer Brothers’ hit series. Spoiler warning for anyone who hasn’t finished watching, but she vanished after a finale tussle with the Demagorgon. Now we know she’s not gone for good. Mike will surely be pleased.
Brown’s return was confirmed via a photo of a table read for season 2 featuring the original main cast members, sans Winona Ryder. “Back in production,” the captions reads. “See you next year. #strangerthings.”
The photo and text are flipped upside down, alluding to the other dimension in Stranger Things. See the official photo plus a flipped version that doesn’t require you to tilt your head, below.
“It’s official! #011 is back for Season 2 of [Stranger Things],” Brown tweeted about Eleven’s return. “Thanks so much to the amazing #DufferBros for bringing El back!”
Season 2 also features Dacre Montgomery (the Power Rangers reboot) as Billy, “Max’s hyper-confident and edgy older step-brother,” while Sadie Sink plays Max, “a tough and confident girl” with “a complicated history.” Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) have also been upped to series regulars.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer teased a “darker” second season and “a bigger mythology behind what happened.”
Matt explained, “We hint at where we might go at the end of the season. Will was living in this Upside Down, this other dimension, for about a week, so the repercussions of that can’t be good. [The] inter-dimensional rift is still very much open, so that also can’t be good.”
