Beyoncé surprised Nashville and the world when she took the stage at the CMA Awards on Wednesday night to perform her track “Daddy Lessons” with the Dixie Chicks.

Though her appearance had been confirmed before the show, fans and viewers didn’t know for sure which song she would perform or who she would play with. But once Beyoncé took the stage, the duet became obvious since the country group had been playing the Lemonade song on tour all year. On stage, they mixed in lines from their 1992 song “Long Time Gone” to the delight of many fans and viewers. After the show, Bey and the Dixie Chicks revealed their joint version of the song would be available as a recorded version to download or stream, confirming that the Bey and the Dixie Chicks had been in the studio together.

After the CMA Awards Beyoncé and Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines shared a behind the scenes photo of the foursome. “Ok! I can finally talk about one of the greatest weeks of my life! Thank you @Beyonce ! You slay. All day!,” she tweeted.

She continued: “I’m pretty sure I’ve uttered the sentence, ‘I will never perform on the CMA’s again as long as I live.’ And then came [bee emoji].”
