Disney’s big-screen adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time has added another famous face.

Michael Peña is rounding out the star-studded cast of the Ava DuVernay-directed film, based on Madeleine L’Engle’s 1963 Newberry Medal-winning novel.

Peña, whose previous credits include The Martian and a scene-stealing performance in Marvel’s Ant-Man, is slated to play a character named Red, Walt Disney Pictures announced late Wednesday. No character by that name exists in L’Engle’s novel, though one of the book’s villains is referred to as “the man with red eyes.”

Peña rounds out a cast that includes newcomer Storm Reid as young heroine Meg Murry, Deric McCabe as Charles Wallace, Levi Miller as Calvin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Mrs. Murry, Chris Pine as Mr. Murry, Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which, Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, and Zach Galifianakis as the Happy Medium. André Holland, Bellamy Young, Rowan Blanchard, and Will McCormack will also costar. Jennifer Lee (Frozen) penned the script.

Production on the film began Wednesday.
