Bill Murray has bartended in Brooklyn, jumped out of a cake on Letterman, and appeared on Kimmel dressed as an Elizabethan clown. And yesterday, the diehard Cubs fan gave his extra World Series Game 6 ticket away to a lucky stranger by the name of Karen Michel. Oh, and that ticket was for the seat next to him.

Michel is a huge Chicago Cubs fan and showed up to Game 6 in Cleveland, Ohio, on Tuesday hoping to somehow buy a ticket for the sold-out game. According to, “She soon noticed actor Bill Murray walking by, and, her interest piqued, she started to follow him. What she wasn’t expecting was for Murray to turn around and hand her his extra World Series ticket.”

“He turns around and says, ‘Here, here’s a ticket,”” she told the site. “And he kind of shuttled me into the door.”

Murray and Michel sat in premium seats, a few rows behind home plate and in the company of Eddie Vedder. Michel says she and Murray talked about being Cubs fans.

Murray has been having a great time at the World Series so far. He sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at Game 3 and joyously celebrated his team’s Game 5 win.
