Little Big Town revealed in a Facebook Live press conference Tuesday that the “a young girl in Nashville” who wrote their track “Better Man” is none other than Taylor Swift.

Vocalist Karen Fairchild explained how Swift offered them the song. “She sent us this song and it was one that was really special to her and she thought of us because of the harmonies and she’s never pitched a song to anyone before and the moment that we heard it we were like, ‘man, that is a song that we’re gonna cut.'”

The band, comprised of Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Philip Sweet, described Swift as a longtime friend, saying they’ve known the now world famous pop star since she was in high school.

“Feeling really honored that a band I’ve loved for so many years decided to record this song I wrote,” Swift shared on Instagram after Little Big Town made the announcement. “Good luck at #cmaawards… Love you guys.”
